About Me
I am a Trainee Counsellor with over 30 years’ experience of working with children, young people and adults across a range of roles and settings. Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience supporting children with a range of disabilities, as well as children and young people who have experienced trauma.
I have a particular passion for supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing, and for helping people who may be experiencing the effects of loss, separation, trauma, anxiety or low mood.
I currently work with people aged 16 and over. I am not trained to work therapeutically with children or young people under 16, or with couples.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I began my professional counselling training in 2023 and am currently a CPCAB Trainee Counsellor. I am also a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), reflecting my commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Education and a Certificate in Mentoring. I have worked for many years within education, supporting children and young people with their self-esteem, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Alongside my professional experience, I have undertaken additional training in areas including Attachment Theory, bereavement, trauma and the impact of trauma on the brain. I also have extensive experience supporting local charities and working within the community.
My previous experience, combined with my counselling training, has strengthened my understanding of the importance of providing a compassionate, respectful and safe space in which people can explore their experiences and begin to make positive changes.
